Olive’s Ocean Written By: Marissa Walsh Two girls almost as different as can be. One a normal school girl doing everything everybody else does. The other shy as a fly, she is quiet and doesn’t seem to mind that. Two totally different girls who hoped to become best friends. Now one dead and one alive, what else could happen? Question: Do you think that is good that Martha is falling for Jimmy?
Response: No, because Martha was getting off focus and getting distracted from her book. She was also not being herself anymore.
Question: Do you think because Martha was writing her book about Olive, it would make her have a connection with Olive?
Response: Yes, because she was writing about what Olive wrote about in her diary and so she would know more of what she was like.
Question: What do you think is the main point of this book?
Response: I think the main poi t of the story is while you are alive you should be friends and be nice with everybody because you never know when that person is going to leave earth.
Paragraph: We had a very interesting and creative discussion.
I though that it was really cool that
everybody came up with the same answers.

Martha is writing her book
as quiet as could be
.She gets distracted by a boy
and now she is like a bee.
She never touches it again for a week
and now the book is weeping.
He makes a bet
and kisses the girl.
Now she is distracted
and her book is abandoned.

Martha went through a kiss with this boy that she liked but the boy really did not like her. The only reason Jimmy (the boy) kissed Martha was because it was just a bet. Martha couldn’t believe that this was happening to her. Martha was both sad and mad at the same time, but unlike Martha I have never kissed a boy before but my friend Kendellan has kissed a boy that actually liked her in 5th grade. Also unlike Martha I am not a very brave girl.
